TACHODISC EXPANDS DRIVER CPC PORTFOLIO
Tachodisc has added two more Driver CPC courses to its training portfolio. In addition to the digital tachograph, legislation and economical driving modules, bus and coach drivers can now attend accredited courses titled ‘Don’t become a Statistic’ and ‘The Customer and You’.
‘Don’t become a Statistic’ has been designed by Tachodisc to raise driver’s awareness of all the risks on the roads for the purpose of accident prevention. Part of the course also provides information about vehicle fires and the safe evacuation of a vehicle, including a practical exercise with simulated smoke.
By choosing this accident prevention course for drivers, operators will enhance the safety of their drivers on the road which in turn can lead to improvements in the viability of the company by a reduction in accidents. It can also serve to improve the company’s safety record and provide benefits to insurance and other associated costs, as well as protect against Corporate Manslaughter charges. Courses are scheduled throughout the year
The new ‘Customer and You’ module has been created specifically for the PCV industry, to educate drivers on how their performance and interaction with passengers can influence behaviour. The course content also covers customer comfort and safety, how to cope with difficult situations and accommodating disabled passengers. For the operator, having drivers trained in these practices will also enhance the overall customer experience which can only serve to provide a positive image for the company. Also by teaching drivers how to handle disability properly will help protect the company against discrimination issues and litigation. Courses will be held throughout the year.
Tachodisc is a JAUPT accredited training centre for Driver CPC and offers a range of approved open courses from its Warrington training school. Courses can also be held at operators’ premises.
