TACHODISC PREVIEWS THE NEW DigiPostV

2010 Commercial Vehicle Operators Show
Stand No: 5774
April 2010

The new digipostV is one device that combines the remote downloading of data from any Digital Tachograph, with GPS, Fuel Monitoring and Task handling functionality.

At the 2010 CVO Show, Tachodisc will be previewing Tachosys’ latest development in remote downloading technology.  Due for official release in Summer 2010, the new digipostV will enable data to be remotely downloaded from any Digital Tachograph with the added benefit of  GPS, Fuel Monitoring and Task handling functionality.

The concept of remote downloading is not new but digipostV offers operators the ability to remotely download any Digital Tachograph.  In the case of early units a company card must be present in the vehicle.  Those with VDO 1.3 Tachographs or later can enjoy fully unattended downloads by simply providing an appropriate company card at a location that has access to the Internet, the data can be validated from the vehicle initiating the download.  The system then automatically transmits the data into Tachodisc’s software programmes for storage and analysis.

As digipostV has remote communications built in (GPRS) there will also be an optional GPS module available which will provide a constant stream of global positioning data.  This will allow companies to track their vehicles and gather speed, braking and acceleration data.  Now real time data and legal Tachograph download data can truly converge.

The four-button interface on the digipostV can also be used for simple task management.  Standardised requests can be passed with a list of known outcomes to be validated by the driver. A separate port on digipostV can also process data from third party fuel monitoring cells.

As an approved Tachosys stockist, the digipostV will be available to order from Tachodisc who will also provide all the necessary technical support for installation.  For a sneak preview, visit Tachodisc at the 2010 CVO Show on Stand No. 5774.
