Driver CPC training Loyalty Scheme

Tachodisc has introduced this loyalty scheme to assist drivers with the planning and payment of training courses. Time is of the essence  for companies needing to organise training and course places are expected to be in high demand over the next couple of years with price increases predicted. This scheme offers benefits including the option to spread the cost of training and have the opportunity to be given priority booking on courses.

Other Tachodisc Training courses

  • Operator CPC refresher course

This course has been designed taking into account that some Operator CPC holders may have taken their qualification a number of years ago or possibly obtained their qualification by acquired rights. There have been many changes in some key transport legislative areas that current CPC holders may not be fully conversant with, such as Working Time Regulations 2005, Digital Tachographs 2006, OCRS scoring 2007, New Drivers Hours 2007, Corporate Manslaughter 2008, Graduated Fixed Penalty Scheme 2009. The course is intended to cover these items and other key areas resulting in a varied and interesting 2 day session.

  • Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)

Manager CPC for freight transport operations – understanding and managing national and international road haulage  -  Tachodisc now offers an 8 day course with an optional 9th day as a revision day.
Alternatively there is a home study option.
The home study option is also available for passenger operations.

OCR accredited examinations for the Manager CPC are held quarterly: March, June, September, December.
Delegates who already hold a national CPC can, during 2013, take the international unit as a 3 day course ( freight only) or a home study option ( both freight and passenger operations)
For those operators that acquired their qualifications a while ago it is strongly recommended that they attend refresher training to ensure that they are up to date with current legislation.

Further information

Since 2005 the transport industry has had to absorb and comply with many changes to the legislation.

2005   Working Time Directive
2006   Digital Tachographs
2007   Changes to Drivers' Hour Law
2008   Corporate Manslaughter
2008   Driver CPC PCV
2009   Graduated Fixed Penalty Scheme
2009   Driver CPC LGV

This presents many challenges for the operator, ensuring that the drivers are fully conversant with these new requirements. Drivers have the right to be fully informed and operators have a legal responsibility to ensure that the drivers are conversant with the law which affects them and the operator.

Tachodisc has provided training in Transport legislation and associated subjects for over 30 years. Since September 2008, Tachodisc has been an approved JAUPT training centre offering Driver CPC courses. Driver CPC is designed to ensure that drivers receive formalised training and to improve road safety and efficiency.
