Driver CPC - Emergency First Aid at Work

This course provides professional drivers with the knowledge and skills to administer first aid in emergency situations during the course of their employment (approved for LGV drivers only). 

A three year Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate will also be issued to those who participate in the practical assessment element of the course.

Course content

Administering first aid to casualties who:

  • are unconscious
  • need to be placed in the recovery position
  • are wounded or bleeding
  • have possible fractures
  • are choking
  • are suffering from shock
  • are suffering from shock
  • have sustained scalds and burns
  • require Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • have potentially been effected by toxins, including the treatment for anaphylactic shock
  • have other conditions requiring treatment

Please note this Course is approved for LGV and PCV drivers.  However the course content is aimed mainly for LGV drivers.  Although this will enable PCV drivers to gain periodic training hours, it may be more beneficial for the driver to attend a PCV specific Course.
