This defect rectification report book contains 50 pages in duplicate and a 'nil defect' box to encourage your drivers to carry out a daily inspection and record any defects or rectifications made.
According to the DVSA guideline book ‘Guide to maintaining Roadworthiness’:
- Drivers are responsible for the condition of their vehicles when in use on the road and must, therefore, be able to report any defects or symptoms of defects that could prevent the safe operation of vehicles.
- A daily walk-round check must be undertaken by a responsible person before a vehicle is used.
Driver's must report any defects, or symptoms of defects, that could prevent the safe operation of the vehicle. In addition to the daily walk around checks, driver's must monitor the roadworthyness fo their vehicle when being driven. If the vehicle develops any faults or warning lights it must be taken off the road until the fualts are repaired.
